CLOVIS
PALEO TIME PERIOD 12,000-8,000 BP

This is an artistic representation of a fluted Lanceolate. Auriculate in shape, it is named for the area it was first identified, the Blackwater Draw near Clovis, New Mexico. Most experts believe this to be the New World's oldest point. It is the most widely distributed point of any type with examples found in every state in the union, with the exception of Hawaii. It is also found in Canada and Mexico as well.
