KIRK CORNER NOTCH
EARLY ARCHAIC 9,000 BP

This is an artistic representation of a Kirk Corner Notch. It's name has no bearing on where it was first found or who found it. The first identified specimen was found in the Carolina Piedmonts with distribution east of the Mississippi River. It is the earliest point found with notches and most Kirks are highly serrated.
