PLAINVIEW TRANSITIONAL PALEO 11,000 BP TO 9,000 BP
This is an artistic representation of a Plainview point. Named after a find near Plainview, Texas. A long, thin, lanceolate-type point, unfluted. Examples have been found throughout the plains states. Some varieties have been found as far north, as south central Canada and east to the Mississippi River valley. Nearly all of the highest quality examples have been found in Texas. Plainviews have been found with the bones of the extinct Figgins Buffalo, which disappeared between 9500 BP and 10500 BP.
